The County of Maui will be providing food to Central and South Maui residents who are in need Thursday, April 9. • Distribution starts at 10 a.m. • War Memorial Gym: • 300 bags for Wailuku residents • 300 bags for Kahului residents • South Maui Gym: • 300 bags for South Maui residents • Mahalo: County employees, VIP, Mahi Pono, Maui Chemical, Matson and Aloha Waste. Drive-Through Testing in Maui County Communities • The County of Maui is coordinating drive-through testing sites this week with Dr. Scott Miscovich of Premier Medical Group. • Tuesday (TODAY) – Molokai • LATER THIS WEEK – Central Maui, Lahaina, Hana and Lanai. • Test results can take 5-7 days or possibly longer due to nationwide backlog at testing labs. • Participants will be called about their test results. • All participants should self-quarantine until their results come back. • More details will be announced soon. I talk to Richard Yust, Maui Food Bank Executive Director ..Maui Food Bank’s mission is to help the hungry in Maui County by collecting and distributing food through community partnerships.
The Maui Food Bank is Maui County’s primary safety net for hunger relief. The Food Bank serves 10,000 people a month who are food insecure. Of those served 40% are children and youth. Working with over 120 partner agencies, the Food Bank distributes safe and nutritious food to individuals, families, kids, the working poor, seniors on fixed incomes, the homeless and anyone who is at risk of going hungry. This includes people in need living in the rural communities of Hana, Molokai and Lanai.

Joseph Rosendo's musings.
Four-time Emmy-award winning PBS director and host Joseph Rosendo has been a travel journalist since 2007 he has been the executive producer, host, director and writer of the American Public Television series Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope which has aired on PBS and Public Television Stations in the United States and Canada with 117 episodes in distribution. Season 10 was released in the sprng of 2018 and Season 11 followed in August, 2019.
Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope has won 42 Telly awards, been nominated for 18 National Daytime Emmy Awards and won six, including 2 personal Emmys for Outstanding Directing in a Lifestyle/Culinary/Travel Program category and 2 Emmys for his role as host.
Rosendo published his first travel story in the Los Angeles Times in 1980 and since then has been published in national and regional publications. and a book of short stories entitled, MUSINGS — The Short Happy Pursuit of Pleasure and other Journeys.
Rosendo also hosted Travelscope – a national travel radio show from 1985 until 2009, creating more than a thousand original hour-long shows. In addition to his radio show he produced radio features
Rosendo’s journalist awards include nine Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards for Video and Audio, the Travel Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) National Award for Tourism Excellence - Globe and Mail Travel Media Award and two Canadian Tourism Commission Northern Lights Broadcast Award. Joseph has also been honored with the Government of France’s Medaille d’Or du Tourisme for his decades of travel journalism on France and his support of France during the run-up to the Iraq War in 2003.
Joseph Rosendo is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers. In addition to his television shows, he also produces travel stories, radio shows, pod casts and a blog covering a wide diversity.
