hat is Humility, a Talk and meditation

humility is not a word

that often comes to my mind

to seek to observe

in any given time

when one seeks for recognition

needing self esteem

being humble does not quite fit in

the egos greater scheme

and yet I’m humbled everyday

by the grace God shows

in so many interesting ways

the beauty of a sunrise

can stop me in my tracks

a rooster rising early

to announce the given fact

that there’s a new day

to face life while still intact

in moments of gratitude

some humility will slip in

when I wonder

at the synchronicity

of so many coincidences

that remind me to look within

and I stop and wonder

how did God do that

and bow deep to the deeper sight

and some part of learns what it lacks

from those teachers you send

in such creative disguises

lord help me to show humility

for what’s greater far than I

this student of life struggling on the path

as you help me to get by

so this not so humble servant

asks for forgiveness if I may

in not recognizing with humility
