Fiona Joy

Cindy Paulos and Fiona Joy talk Story. Fiona Joy was born in Cessnock, New South Wales and raised in both Newcastle and Tamworth.^[1] She began to study the piano at a young age, composing short pieces before she was a teenager. She trained at the Tamworth Conservatorium of Music under tutor Ursula Bakker and showed early signs of musical talent.^[2] Her teachers included Es Clarke, Ursula Bakker, and Maureen Newell.^[3]

 Her collaborations have included a five albums produced by Grammy Winning Producer Will Ackerman (founder Windham Hill Records). Her influences include George Winston, Michael Nyman, Chopin, and Mendelssohn.

The Sydney Morning Herald said of her in 2007 that she "ranks among the world's best in her genre, but struggles for recognition in her home country" of Australia, largely due to the lack of recognition given to the genre by Australian music critics until she won the 2006 ZMR award. Fiona Joy is the first Australian to place in the top ten on the ZMR chart and the first to win a ZMR award.

Her first album, Portrait of a Waterfall, charted at No. 1 on the New Age Reporter (NAR) World Charts in 2005.Her classical release, Angel Above My Piano, earned the NAR Lifestyle Music Award for Best Piano Album of the Year for 2006.

She has been a finalist multiple times in both the Musicoz Awards in the jazz and classical categories, and the Los Angeles Music Awards in the New Age/Ambient Instrumental category.

In 2008 Fiona Joy was the 2008 MusicOz winner for Best Jazz or Classical Artist. In 2009 she won Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, and Best Instrumental Album by Zone Music Reporter for her album Blue Dream. The album was also a finalist for an ARIA Music Award.

Her fifth album, 600 Years in a Moment (2013), draws on Celtic music from her family traditions as well as vocal and instrumental performances intended to represent Mongolia, Hungary, China, Africa, Tibet, Ireland, the Middle East, and Native America. She played a Stuart & Sons piano and was recorded in Newcastle, Australia, in Vermont at Ackerman's Imaginary Road Studios, Los Angeles, New York, Bremen and Portland, Maine, and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Featured musicians include cellist Eugene Friesen, bassist Tony Levin, drummer Jeff Haynes, Charlie Bisharat, violinist and vocalist Rebecca Daniel, and guitarists Will Ackerman and Todd Boston.The album was awarded the Best Instrumental Album – Piano at the 2013 ZMR Music Awards.

In 2013 Fiona Joy was a finalist in the Best Live Performance, Best New Age Album, and Best New Age Song categories at the Independent Music Awards. She was also finalist in the Best Live Performance, Best New Age Album, and Best New Age Song categories at the Independent Music Awards that same year.

In 2014, Fiona Joy and Will Ackerman produced the album By a Wire by Jennifer Defrayne with Fiona Joy assisting on piano and lyics. In 2014 her song "Grace" appeared on the compilation album Winds of Samsara, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard New Age albums chart and won the Grammy Award for Best New Age Album.

In 2015, Zhou Tiebing, of the Xiangyang Government Network, labelled Hawkins the "piano princess" after her performance in Shenyang.

Her 2016 album Signature Synchronicity received the Independent Music Award for Best New Age Song for "Song Calling Earth" and the award for Best New Age Album.^[25][26] It also received the ZMR Award for Best Piano Album.^[27]

In May, 2017, Fiona Joy also released Into The Mist in high resolution audiophile format. Sony sponsored the Magic Bus debut at the LA Audio show.

In October, 2017, Fiona Joy joined with Lawrence Blatt, Jeff Oster, and Will Ackerman and created the group New Age “super group” “FLOW” (from the first letters of Fiona Joy’, Blatt’s, Ackerman’s first name and Oster’s last name). FLOW debuted their self-titled album at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall on October 6, 2017.

In early 2018, Fiona Joy released Story of Ghosts via download with SACDs to be shipped in June, 2018.^[33]

Grammy nominated Nawong Khechog performs Sat at Makawo Union Church

 Saturday, July 21st from 7pm - 9pm at the Makawao Union Church. 

 

This event is being held in memory of Maui's late Tibetan Venerable Lama Dhondup Gyaltsen, a Tibetan monk and cultural leader that was very important to many on Maui and around the world. He was perhaps best known for his Sand Mandala meditations that toured the world. Sadly, Lama Dhondup passed away on May 25th.

 

The evening, entitled "Sounds of Tibet and Universal Love & Compassion" will feature a musical performance by Nawang Khechog, a flute player and composer that is considered by many to be "the global ambassador of Tibetan music", and who lived as a monk for many years under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Khechog will be accompanied by Maui musician Sal Godinez on piano.

Auric Energy Fields-Yours and others

An aura or Human energy field is, according to New Age beliefs, a colored emanation said to enclose a human body or any animal or object. In some esoteric positions, the aura is described etheric energy field around all living things and even, rocks.

 The Beach Boys put out a song called good vibrations. And yes we all are vibrating at different frequencies of energy. All frequencies vibrate with different colors.

 After I experienced Cosmic Consciousness, I could see auras. However, I see no colors in aura’s I see clear, auras with different shapes around different people. For some reason I see more aura when I’m in a airport. What I see is like the the light around a full moon, or a candle flame.

The auras see are similar to what is painted around the Head of Jesus or Mary. However, what I see extends much further around the heads than those paintings. I see an energy field that extends a few feet up. And some people who seem to be spiritual have an interesting crown like energy above their heads. I can see this energy field in photos of people as well.

Monika Ryan talks about her recent experience coming in to Heathrow

Jazz vocalist Monika Ryan, started singing professionally at the age of 15 and had management by 16, working around New York City and under mentorship of musicians like Houston Person. With his recommendation, she applied and entered the world renowned New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan, where she further honed her craft studying with Jackie Paris, Sheila Jordan, Buster Williams, Reggie Workman, Chico Hamilton, Charli Persip, Junior Mance, Arnie Lawrence, and many other jazz luminaries. 

At 18 years old Monika started singing with Charli Persip’s big band, “Precipitation,” and working at nightclubs and concert halls around New York. Through these concerts, she met and started working at premier clubs and venues in New York City with other greats, such as Al Grey, Gene Bertoncini, and Larry Ham. At 23 Monika was hired by Carnegie Hall to perform for 2 seasons of its “Neighborhood Concert Series.” During that time she recorded in Carnegie Hall’s studio with legendary guitar player Gene Bertoncini and Carnegie Hall studio engineer, Leszek Wojcik. 

 

Monika will follow “Windmills” with “Now,” a collection of original, contemporary Jazz songs inspired by current events. “Now” was recorded and mixed in early 2017 and will be released in soon.

Why do we think we are not already perfect?

 

1. Much of Life in countries that are designed around capitalism need to have people continue to buy an depends money to keep their business going.

That requires you to believe you need something to make you or your life better.

2. You feel unworthy due to inferiority complex.
3. You feel unworthy because of abuse.
4. We get bombarded by negativity and can’t see the reality of our perfection with the Presence.

 But!

you are a beautiful being of Peace and light

a gift of Gods love Alive in this life

see the reflection of Spirits presence

and let it shine forth oh so bright

 right there in your very being

is a diamond waiting for you to find

stop all the endless seeking

and dwell with your soul inside

 you have chosen to be here right now

and you are blessed eternally

Gods love holds the true answer

and you already have the key

 

accept the perfection of who you are and be

that Diamond created from God’s pure energy

and embrace the Presence and see

how you reflect God’s peace and harmony
