Mia is a Judge for the Emmys® & Daytime Emmys®, Voting Member of NARAS/Grammy® Awards, an Executive-, Co-, & Associate Producer at Grammy® Award-winning Broadway Records (incl. Grammy® Award-nominated MY FAIR LADY~Broadway cast recording), Co-Producer Off-Broadway of YAGMCB (2016), and on Van Dean's producing team of ANASTASIA The Musical~Broadway, and the ANASTASIA U.S. Tour. She is on Van Dean's producing team of the U.S. Tour and Broadway production of THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL, a Co-Producer of JAGGED LITTLE PILL~Broadway, as well as Co-Producer of the new musical, MARIE~Broadway (2020/2021), about the dancer who inspired Degas, and an Investor in COMPANY~Broadway, starring Patti LuPone and Katrina Lenk. Mia was on the Jennifer Tepper producing team of BE MORE CHILL~Broadway (continuing that association now on London's West End), and a Co-Producer of BROADWAY BOUNTY HUNTER~Off-Broadway, starring Annie Golden. On London's West End, she is also involved with DreamWorks Animation/DreamWorks Theatricals' THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, now in previews. She is also on Arlene Scanlan's Producing Team for SING STREET~Broadway (2020/2021). NISEI VETERANS MEMORIAL CENTER ANNOUNCES 2020 Leadership Series “Ta-ke”

The Nisei Veterans Memorial Center is proud to announce its 2020 Leadership Series  titled “TAKE” (ta-kay 竹 , which means bamboo in Japanese). The series will be conducted monthly via ZOOM conferencing, kicking off on Tuesday, June 23 at 4:00 P.M. The series will feature outstanding leaders in our community sharing their insights on modern day society, current issues we are collectively facing, and how through the lens of the Nisei Values,  we can get past today’s obstacles for a brighter tomorrow as we resume our daily lives after months of social distancing. 

 The first presentation on Tuesday, June 23 at 4:00 P.M will be titled The New Normal, led by Paul K. Yonamine, Executive Chairman of Central Pacific Bank, and Chairman & CEO of Central Pacific Financial Corp. Paul will share with us his views on Nisei values and why these are important to navigate through COVID-19’s impact and to thrive in the new normal. With his vast experience internationally in business as well as his own life-story as a Japanese American it is bound to be a very interesting, personal, informative and inspiring hour-long talk.

 In Japan’s bygone years, people were told to run for safety into bamboo groves in the event of an earthquake because the bamboo's strong root structure would hold the Earth together. Perhaps in today’s societal and political atmosphere it is more important than ever to seek inspiration in that which holds the Earth together, that which holds us together.  The Nisei values of courage, respect, humility, perseverance, resiliency, compassion, obligation and patience offer a perfect template for us.

Kenya Autie was the first woman to play electric guitar in a rock bank in Havana, Cuba after graduating from the Guillermo Tomas Conservatory.  She is currently a producer and  songwriter working out of El Cerrito Studio and other studios throughout the US. She has co-produced several Grammy and Latin Grammy winning and nominated albums and was the producer of the 2018 Latin Grammy winning album for Best Tango Album, Vigor Tanguero by Pedro Giraudo.  Kenya Autie is a featured artist of the Warm Audio Company.
